Walgreens Credit Card

Dec 01, 2023 By Triston Martin

Customers who often shop at drugstore chains owned by Walgreens and its New York-based sister business, Duane Reade, will benefit from the myWalgreens™ Mastercard® since the benefits it offers are geared toward maintaining a healthy lifestyle. You may receive rewards for making purchases and participating in fitness challenges with the Synchrony credit card, which does not charge an annual fee. In addition to this, new cards are eligible for a bonus offer.

On the other hand, the benefits you accumulate do not come in the form of cashback, as is the case with the vast majority of shop credit cards. You will be given "Walgreens Cash," which may be used only for purchases made at Walgreens and Duane Reade pharmacies. The myWalgreens™ Mastercard® is discussed here, along with five key information points.

There Are Two Walgreens Cards

Walgreens Cash may be earned on select transactions made with the myWalgreens™ Mastercard® that are made at locations other than Walgreens. This card can be used everywhere Mastercard is accepted. However, depending on how Synchrony evaluates your application, you may be issued the myWalgreens Credit Card instead. This is a store card that may only be used at Walgreens and Duane Reade stores and online at walgreens.com.

Both cards earn:

  • 10% in Walgreens Cashback on purchases of Walgreens-brand products that qualify.
  • 5% in Walgreens Cashback on qualifying in-store or online purchases at Walgreens and Duane Reade, including purchases made at qualified pharmacies.

The myWalgreens™ Mastercard® also earns:

  • 3% in Walgreens Outside of Walgreens, cash is accepted for purchases of groceries and health and wellness products. The term "health and wellness" refers to veterinarian and pet businesses, stores selling medical equipment and recreational items, gym memberships, health care providers, and hospitals.
  • 1% back in Walgreens Cash on purchases made outside of those categories.
  • You also have the opportunity to win prizes by taking part in health challenges

Challenge yourself to a healthier lifestyle over four weeks and win Walgreens Cash for each completed challenge. It's important to find ways to remain motivated, but it's important to remember that you can only earn a maximum of one dollar's worth of incentives throughout those four weeks (25 cents per week). If you complete all four weekly tasks, you will be entered into a drawing for an additional opportunity to win up to $2 in Walgreens Cash.

If maintaining a healthy lifestyle is one of your top priorities, the Paceline Credit Card comes with a rewards program that allows you to increase the amount of cash back you get once you meet certain activity requirements every week.

You'll Earn A Bonus With Your First Purchase

The myWalgreens™ Mastercard® simplifies the terms of much other credit card sign-up incentives, which often require you to spend a particular amount within three to six months after opening your account. When you establish a new account and make your first purchase during the first 45 days, you will be rewarded with $35 in Walgreens Cash. There are certain excluded items.

Rewards Are In The Form Of Walgreens Cash

Walgreens Cash is different from cash back in every way. You may redeem it at the checkout counter at Walgreens or Duane Reade stores, as well as online, to get a discount on the overall price of the purchase. When redeemed, one dollar's worth of Walgreens Cash would be equivalent to one dollar off the purchase price of an item. You can redeem your points in increments of $1, $2, $3, $4, $5, $10, $20, or $50, respectively. Walgreens Cash is only valid for one year after it has been earned or for up to six months if your account has been inactive.

There Are Limitations To Earning Rewards

You can't rack Walgreens Bucks on booze, cheese, cigarettes, stamps, gift cards, or lottery tickets. No purchases made at pharmacies in Arkansas, New Jersey, New York or prescriptions transferred to merchants in Alabama, Mississippi, Oregon, Puerto Rico, Tennessee, or Virginia will be eligible for this program. This is by no means an all-inclusive list of limitations; thus, you should review the conditions of your myWalgreens account to see whether or not any of your typical purchases may be affected.

The Problem with the 60/40 Portfolio

The 60/40 portfolio, a mainstay of savvy investors for decades, doesn't seem to be adapting to the modern market environment. Hedge funds, commodities, private equity, and inflation-protected assets are relatively new additions to the conventional well-balanced portfolio.
